For the payout scale, I'm used to doing something like 3rd place breaks even, 2nd gets 3x "buyin" and 1st gets 8x, assuming a 12 team league.

Also, was it decided if it's strictly commissioner based vetoing or based on a minimum number of other teams voting against?

One last thing is maybe move the championship week up so it isn't on the last week of the regular nba schedule. That's usually when good teams rest their best players.
