Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
Oops - was looking at 27/13.
27/23 I'm CR'ing the flop. Still folding the turn. |

Thinking about it I kinda like donking flop for 1/2 pottish w/ the intention of getting it in. It's kinda risky w/ just the knowledge that he's 27/23 an repopping a bit but I prefer it to c/shove. [/ QUOTE ] 80% of pot looks much bluffier IMO. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] shove flop [/ QUOTE ] that cant be optimal [/ QUOTE ] why? [/ QUOTE ] Cause he is never calling with worse, and not folding better? If there is no history going on here I think that is pretty accurate. So we pick up the pot every time he has AK/AQ and give him our 150BBs whenever he has QQ+. That can't be optimal. |

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
Since we are more than 100BB deep I call flop and play for set value.
I don't like playing for more than 100BB with JJ on this type of flop unless I know I am ahead because I have a good read. You said that you don't think he is raising too light, so just fold the flop. If you are going to go ahead with your hand on the flop, then check, raise to 85 and don't fold to an all-in ... |

lol, no TAG ever donk/folds 3 bet pots [/ QUOTE ] Maybe I'm in the minority but I've done this a couple times with air against a tag because I hate when people do it to me. My sample size is small but I think I've been called or raised every time. |

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
I don't understand why you don't lead the flop? You said he's a LAG and has been 3betting you quite a bit, so IMO you are beating a lot of his range. I don't think the UTG limp changes much. I think a strong bet on the flop is in order here in hopes to take it down. If he calls, then proceed with caution.
You can assume by checking that he will bet with whatever he has in his hand, so this is a situation you need real clarification. You also have a hand here that is vulnerable to later streets, so taking it down at the moment would be best. The idea of C/R the turn doesn't make much sense to me. It just looks like you're putting too much money into a pot that he will fold with nothing or call with a hand that beats you. |
