Well on the turn I was almost positive that he had a set of aces or (jj,qq,kk). I couldnt decide if I should double barrell, but since my read was that 3/4 of those hands he would have had to fold; should I have done it? I had another opp. on the river but I pussed out there too.

If you're going to take a shot at this pot on the flop you need to make a scary bet, ~$20. If he calls that I shut down without a read.

When he bets that small on the river, though, it might be worth re-popping him. Not really sure on that. I think your range is probably pretty accurate with the high pocket pairs, so your hand has very little showdown value, but if he's got some sort of weak ace he's not folding.
