AKo on K high board, 180BB deep
I have no read on UTG as he has been playing for only about 20 hands. MP is aggresive and donkish, I've seen him calling down with TPWK for a 60BB pot. We played a pot for about 50BB when he paid me off with J8o against my AJo on a Jack high board...
The table is raising to either 3 or 4 dollars... 0.50-1 NL. 6 handed UTG ($95.25) MP ($170.80) CO ($86.55) Hero ($182.32) SB ($40.15) BB ($97.80) Preflop: Hero is button with Ac, Kd. UTG raises to $6.50, MP calls $6.50, CO folds, Hero calls, SB folds, BB folds. Flop: ($19.50) 8d, Kc, 4h (2 players) UTG bets 14.00, MP all in 164.30, Hero???? I know I probably should have raised preflop, but the raise from UTG was big for the table and I didn't want to get 4bet on this spot... |

Re: AKo on K high board, 180BB deep
I dont altogether mind just calling preflop here. If you raise, you put the UTG player to a tough decision if he has something like QQ or JJ, but even with those hands, and certainly with AA or KK, he could reraise you and then you are looking at a really tough decision. You have position and a pretty good idea that you can beat MP, so calling is fine.
I think you have to fold on the flop. Unless the UTG has a similar read that you do on MP, this is a really bad spot to continuation bet a hand that didnt like that flop. With a pair lower than kings or AQ is he really gonna fire into two players that called an UTG raise? And even if he has a read on MP, what is he putting you on? So he likely has Ak also, or AA. If he has AK, you are calling to chop unless he folds. Also, its not totally a given you can beat MP. From what you say, it seems like there is a pretty good chance, but he could have a set or maybe even somehow hit two pair. Its definitely not a fun hand to fold, but I dont see too many ways you can have the best hand here. |

Re: AKo on K high board, 180BB deep
Wow, this is sick. Although what does MP have. 88, 44. I doubt KK even the nittest of nits raise KK pf. I can't give him K8 or K4. I doubt he flats that preflop. AA. Maybe and got scared of all the callers.
Why would he shove 88 or 44? That would be pretty stupid. I don't get it but I think it is REALLY close to a call. I think that I call this. SMS |

Re: AKo on K high board, 180BB deep
When you under-represent your hand to induce action, you are no longer allowed to fold when you GET that action. Nobody puts you on AK, and TPTK looks very unlikely. You've got to plug your nose and call this. It's +EV but not by a whole truckload. I'd say that villain has Kx and QQ here often enough to make this thinly +EV.

MP is an aggrodonk, and could definitely be doing this with weaker hands. Further, better hands are exceedingly unlikely. @blahblahblah: the board is rainbow, so MP doesn't have a flush draw. I'd call it. edit: Regarding preflop action, I'd say a reraise is better here. Raise to ~$25, and probably call push from either, since UTG is too short to price you out, and MP is an aggrodonk. I would have said that MP wouldn't push with so much money behind, but obv it's possible given the flop action. |
