At these stakes, if he has a higher set, then good luck to him. I Chalk it up to a cooler.

You should be thinking, do I get it in on the flop, turn or river?

That's s good fold, which I probably couldn't make.

I'd just tell myself he has an op.

Wouldn't this player smooth call w/ top set?

I know...

I really do feel like folding is a mistake, but it's like

- he has QQ+ here rarely (rr preflop)

- no way he is cold 3betting something like A7 if he's a winner in tournaments midstakes I would think

- I dont think people overplay medium to big pocket pairs here

- dude would have to be nuts or on tilt to cold 4bet something like a straight draw

It's like...

I dunno, in these situations should I just go lol and shove? Because honestly it looks like 77 or 33 so much here. He saw a flop bet and raise on this really dry board and reraised.

Meh.

players that grind low stakes dont fastplay sets like this, do they? this board is as dry as it gets

Yeah, seems like this is yeti theorem territory.

(So easy to say that after seeing results. But either way, I'd never fold a set in a 77 to any flop action)

Harrington:

"Trips: Some authors tell you to be careful when you flop middle or bottom trips. NONSENSE. If you get knocked out of a tourn. over a set-over-set confrontation, then it just wasnt your tournament. When your set gets outflopped your supposed to lose alot of money. when i hear someone telling a story How he shrewdly laid down a set after some intricate chain of reasoning convinced him he was beat, my quick(but silent) reaction is "idiot".
