50NL - AK hits ace on flop, river decision against passive opponent

We are both fairly new to the table and have not gotten into any confrontations.

His donkbet into the flop made me think that maybe he had something like A3 or A2, so I checked the river, despite the fact that a lot of weaker aces are probably calling here.

Thoughts?

in my experience, the small donk bet on the flop means he usually has a flush draw and he wants to draw cheaply. Don't let him. I think you played flop and turn fine.

(Every so often you run into someone who does this monsters, but they will almost always come back over the top of you)

I'm probably betting something like $16 on the river to get value from weaker Aces, but he's more than likely not calling. So I don't mind the check so much.
