Commerce limit vs no limit games
A friend of mine, like me, is a mid limit player, but he told me the 2/5 NL game at the Commerce with a $1000 capped buy in (does that sound right?) is more lucrative with less variance than the 20/40 limit game. Anybody here familiar with both games with an opinion?

Re: Commerce limit vs no limit games
since the 5-10 is a $400 max buyin, I doubt the 2-5 is a 1k. More like $200.
NL less variance than limit, yes |

Re: Commerce limit vs no limit games
I stand corrected. It was a $400 max buy in. That's a 5/10 blind game at the Commerce?

You can find the answer below.

It is simple to figure out how much a young man shall pay the life-time rake, who began poker at 25 and finish poker 55 and continue playing 1000 hours every year (say, as a regular player) The $5 rake is equivalent to hourly rake of about $25, for estimated 45 hands per hour. He pays $25K per SINGLE year and WILL PAY total $750K in his 30 years of poker life, except his tipping to dealers. Therefore, after Commerce raised from $4 to $5 in January 2007, the young man pay from $600K to $750K as his total life-time rake. So $1 increase shall take $150K more from his asset in his life. |

Re: Commerce limit vs no limit games
[ QUOTE ]
Commerce(160, 2400) commercecasino.com $1 increase from January 2007 (323)721-2100 x635 5 tables of $20/$40 LHE $8/HH, free meal 4 tables of $40/$80 LHE $9/HH, free meal [/ QUOTE ] Just so everyone knows, the above is bull***t. There is no time charge for the 20/40 or 40/80 LHE games. Both games drop $1 for no flop, $4 for a hand that's over on the flop, and $5 total if the hand sees a turn card. It's true about the free food, though. As for # of tables, it depends of course. The 20 can spread anywhere from 2 to 7-8 tables, and the same goes for the 40. On average, the above figure is correct. |
