1. Fbomb is OK as long as it is NOT directed at 1 person
2. Scotty had a simlar implosion at a WPT FT last year. (or was it the year before) Chip leader at start of FT, overplayed a few hands then busted.

Lon when it is AA against AK and the flop comes A-8-8..it doesn't "all but do it" it does it. For some reason Lon thought the turn card ended that hand. Weird.

I'm still not unclear about how AK is not drawing dead here.

You're "not unclear"? That means you're clear.

Not unsure what you are trying to say there.

Is it just me, or do others think that Scotty looked old and tired (even when he was winning)? Plus, his hair looked way greasier than usual.

[/ QUOTE ]

What I thought was sad was that he failed to remove the cardboard from the crown of his hat, and since he kept taking it off and smoothing down his hair, the cardboard piece started to fall out. You can see it on his forehead in his bust-out hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was trying to figure out what that was. Damn, that was a sad, pathetic scene at the end of the 2nd episode. All his dreams dashed in poorly played blind vs blind hands.

Man how awesome was it when Asshat Tran made Super Sick I Am The Greatest Call, Part Deux and busted out?

I only wish Jerry Yang had been there to say, "Now THAT was a funny card."

I think we need to focus some more on Tran's bustout hand than on Scotty's meltdown. Tran seems to be getting a walk because of the way that Scotty went out. I don't have all the details of Tran's last hand right now so if someone could put it up here so we can dissect...

[/ QUOTE ]

tran has Q 10, Kalmer has A 8 of clubs. Not sure of preflop action but Tran has position. flop comes somethingn like 10 6 3 with two clubs. Kalmer check calls a 1/2-2/3 pot bet. turn is offsuit and gives Kalmer a guttie. maybe a 9. Kalmer check calls 2/3 pot. From the video it looks like Kalmer is check calling rather quickly. River is a 2 of clubs and Kalmer moves in for about a pot size bet. maybe a little more than pot, not positive. Tran puts him on 77 or 88 (he's talking out loud) before he calls. Also, from the video it looks like Kalmer goes all in on river rather quickly.

edit - i only watched it once and this is from memory. so if i got anything wrong, please correct me.

[/ QUOTE ]

ESPN's editing didn't do justice to what actually happened.

Kenny Tran agonized for over 5 minutes before someone at the table called the clock.

Just as the floorman was counting down to ONE, Kenny Tran said "I call."

was anyone else reminded of the scene in wayne's world where garth is totally decked out in reebok logo stuff during yang's interview segment where he is basically coated in ftp logos?

[/ QUOTE ]

Everyone (FullTilt, PokerStars, All In, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, etc. etc. etc.) went overboard with logoes at the 2007 WSOP.

Harrah's, in consultation with ESPN, has changed the rules regarding logoes. The new rules were in effect at WSOP Europe:

1. No more than 2 logoes per player

2. No more than 1 logo per company per player. For example, what FullTilt did at the 2007 WSOP, with both "FullTiltPoker.net" and "PokerWire" logoes on the same player, is no longer allowed.

3. No more hat or cap logoes. Shirt logos ONLY.

4. No more than one gambling-related logo per player. That means a player cannot endorse both a casino and an online .net "poker school", as Scotty Nguyen did at the 2007 WSOP.

5. No adjustment of logoes for the rest of the day once a player is seated at a TV table.

So far Yang hasn't been any better or worse than I expected. He's made some bad calls but he's only been playing poker a couple of years and is a low limit player. He's on the freeroll of his life (as of this last episode) and I like the way he has conducted himself up to now. He has a lock down mode he goes into when in a hand but when he's not involved or the hand is over he seems to be a friendly guy. I know that ESPN is playing down his praying since Tran made a reference to it already. We'll see how they show him next week.

So far he's Robert Varkonyi II and he'll probably remain that way forever.

Yea, the AQ hand was bad. It was pretty obvious that he had no real plan on the turn, he's turning his hand into a bluff shoving there which is bad by itself, but even worse when you consider he probably didn't realize he ws turning his hand into a bluff.

No worse hand is calling there, shoving is just bad.

Jerry Yang: I use psychology to read my opponents

Real Interpretation : I win coinflips

Jerry Yang: I watch their body gestures and create a mental picture of what they do on every hand

Real Interpreation: I win coinflips

Jerry Yang: I'm happy with my reads

Real Interpreation: I'm happy winning coinflips with my tournament risk at stake.
