Yaaaaaaaa you're not gonna do good. [/ QUOTE ] for real meng? i'll be surprised if atlanta or carolina tops toronto. i'm not saying it can't happen, i just think the the leafs will have a good year (again, provided toskala starts) |

Re: ***Official 07-08 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread***
I think Toronto will be very competitive. But Toskala was supposed to be the difference maker, and needs to be a star for them.
The predictions of Atlanta's demise are very premature I think. They still have spectacular scorers and a fantastic young goalie. I think Carolina can still be scary good. They have Staal, Cole, Brind'Amour, Whitney, Williams, Walker, Stillman. that's ridiculous depth. A good young goalie, and a healthy season from Kaberle could mean big numbers for them. They could be top 5 again. off to meeting, back to see about this bet later... |

Re: ***Official 07-08 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread***
Toskala getting signed to the extension pretty much guarantees he's the starter, despite never being a No. 1. Toskala's confidence isn't too high right now, so you can forget about not starting him. What the [censored] would it look like come tonight, and the fans see Raycroft in net?
*1. NY Rangers *2. Ottawa *3. Carolina 4. Pittsburgh 5. New Jersey 6. Toronto 7. Buffalo 8. Atlanta And lol, rafiki. |

Re: ***Official 07-08 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread***
There is certainly a non-zero chance of the Leafs missing the playoffs - I'd put it at around 25%. However, teams 6-12 are basically interchangable at this point. Whoever stays healthiest will win.

[ QUOTE ] Raycroft the starter. Sens FTW. [/ QUOTE ] Damnit, we give away so much for Toskla in offseason, to have him be the backup. Another awesome trade by our amazing GM. [/ QUOTE ] What did we trade for Toskala? I missed that. |

The main reason Toskala will make a difference is because raycroft won't need to play 72 games again.

Re: ***Official 07-08 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread***
The team also got Mark Bell in the deal, who if he beats his personal problems could regain the form that made him a 20 goal physical player in Chicago.
Boston picked up Manny Fernandez this off-season, so they don't think Rask is ready to start either. However, they're one of the few franchises run consistently worse than the Leafs. |

[/ QUOTE ] Can't argue there, but the Bruins have way more upside in terms of prospects then the Leafs. You may find that gap close pretty fast. |
