I'd probably put another bet in on the river after the turn check to try and push off a weak ace, or at least get value for JJ.

Check with intention of folding if he fires a big get. If hes tight, hes not firing with less than a hand that has you beat. Lower pockets are not firing in tag mode.

Gsykes, i think this is well played.

A bet on the river would be a pure bluff and the only hand i can see folding would be KK.

Pretty good line. An alternative would be to check flop, bet turn and bet river for value if he checks to you again.

Edit - but this is my default line. I only use the line I suggested if I think they're calling my 3-bets light.

Well played IMO.


I do pretty much this exact same thing most of the time except my pre-flop raise is slightly larger and my flop bet varies between 8 and 8.5

I am quite positive my preflop re-raise is standard 3.5x his raise is fine.
