[ QUOTE ] I'm being kind because he's old and it's not a field he's studied. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure Dyson would appreciate (and not laugh at) your intellectual pity. [/ QUOTE ] I was hoping he'd chuckle. That doesn't mean I want his advice on the effect playing inverted minors has on slam bidding in IMP contests unless he has played a lot of high level tournament bridge. luckyme |

That doesn't mean I want his advice on the effect playing inverted minors has on slam bidding in IMP contests unless he has played a lot of high level tournament bridge. [/ QUOTE ] Just so we're clear, are you saying: luckyme's knowledge of evolution ![]() ![]() [/ QUOTE ] My expertise isn't much of a factor in either case. If he started his bridge lecture with "raise the size of the pot when..." I'd be worried. When he talks about "speciation EVENTS" , etc ( some noted it my first comment) in referencing evolution and makes such statements part of (basis for?) a larger claim, the same warning bells go off. He could be reaching some point that has merit, but he's chosen a strange and unstable starting point. ( what does a speciation event look like, for example?). is that clearer? luckyme |
