Re: quick question about talking during a hand..
If this was a "quick question" and the answers have all been the same, why is this thread still going? LOL

Re: quick question about talking during a hand..
wow, this is a rough forum haha. umm, it didnt exactly go to me telling him how badly he misplayed his hand, i was being berated after i CLEARLY made an accident and he continued to go on about it. i DID apologize and he continued to berate me.
but to everyone who thinks im full of myself, i didnt mean to come off like that, i obviously didnt know EXACTLY what he had, but its just an impulse to think aloud sometimes when im in a hand (internet player in me XD) and since this incident ive been very silent. so to get it straight when someone is behind to act just keep the mouth closed. i got it. and i appreciated the people who just flat out told me instead of going into flame mode on the noob |

Re: quick question about talking during a hand..
[ QUOTE ]
so to get it straight when someone is behind to act just keep the mouth closed. [/ QUOTE ] Close, but no banana. Don't say anything at all. The reason is that somebody may not see the value of his/her hand. This happened just the other day with me at a 15/30 game. A single 9 or K made a straight, and at the end in a big pot between three players it was bet call raise call fold. Raiser had two pair, caller just showed his top pair of aces and was about to muck, when the folder groaned that he had a 9. Guy with the ace paused and checked his kicker and scooped. Now, I'm a fan of the best hand winning (as it is online), but as with other things online (such as being able to see all the hands at showdown), it doesn't carry over to live play. And on that note, please never ever EVER ask to see a mucked hand. Just STFU, really. Why do you need to say something? Are you trying to convince people that you're a better player than they are so that they play smarter against you? How is this even remotely +EV? Also, make sure you act quickly, and don't stack your chips in the 10 or 1 seat in such a way that the delaer has a problem pitching cards around them. |

Re: quick question about talking during a hand..
Completely agree with the general opinion on this. I was at a 1/2 NL at the Borg this weekend where people were talking about their/other hands in multiway pots.
But a quick question to the table/dealer informed me that everyone was ok with the talk. It was 3AM, but I'd never been at a table where it was ok, even almost encouraged. Not sure how they'd figure what the boundary was though was for you could go. |
