not enough posters in ssl play online regularly imo to make a stars/ftp regs thread worthwhile. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with Kit. And I will take this opportunity to cuss out the Arizona Cardinals and their incredible ability to return re-punts for touchdowns and intercept 4 yard slants in the end zones. Christ that sucked. |

[/ QUOTE ] oh, that did suck. i get the NFL sunday ticket so i can watch all of the steelers games. the cardinals played with a grudge. after all, they had two guys spurned by the steelers in their search for the new head coach. russ grimm and ken whisenhunt had an axe to grind with the steelers organization and it was a sentiment echoed by the players as well. if you are on the road in the NFL and you don't put a team away early, watch out. |

Also, fumbling repeatedly in the backfield to turn 2nd and 8s into 3rd and 18s is not typically a winning strategy in football at any level.
I don't have Sunday ticket, but make a weekly pilgrimage to a bar that does. |

Last night at Oceans 11 waiting for a 4/8 seat to open up in the main room. I was in the tourney-lower limit room sitting at a low buy in NLHE table passing the time and they had the SD game on. They have one giant tv screen and several smaller flat screens on various walls. The giant screen somehow is about 7-8 seconds time delayed behind the smaller flat screens. There is some play happening almost the whole room is watching some guy score and yelling. Forward to 8 seconds later and one lone large man at our table stands up watching the giant screen and starts yelling "Go baby Go!!!!!!!! Go baby go!!" Hilarious. Everyone is staring at him & chuckling. He didn't catch on at all.
Good times PS. OF note, he had about 6 chips left total in his stack and opted to just call a $4 bet on the turn. |

Talk about wasted potential. Nobody out here was excited when Norv came to town, but nobody thought he could get a team with this much talent off to a 1-3 start! Fortunately, as a transplant from NE I don't have to suffer with all my So-Cal brethren. Go Pats! |

Sports triv sharing.-My older brother used to play in the big band that played at the Rams games when they played at Anaheim stadium. He is also a full time musician
I used to play at some Angels games back in the 80-90's in between innings. Pretty fun seeing diff players before the games down near the workout room where we would meet before we played. Dave Winfield was freakin giant and Brian Downing had arms like Popeye. Nice guys as well. We would also yell Bert Blyleven's name and then hide behind trash cans and he would look for us. He was a prankster so he liked it |

No posts in here for some time, so I'll bring it back up front. Here is a short yet humorous anecdote from the 3/6 table this week:
Some people call and the dealer decides to flop some cards. Some people bet and some call, and another card is turned. More betting ensues, and the river is put down. Final board of: A 3 Q 2 K rainbow (in that order....king on river) Then this happens between "Donk" and "Luckbox", taking about 3 minutes because Donk can't even manage his freaking chip stack and the dealer is trying to keep their bets separate and well organized for the impending chop: LB: Bet D: Raise LB: Raise D: Raise LB: Raise D: Raise LB: Raise D: We have the same hand. Same hand right? I call. LB tables JTo. D is noticeably astonished, then confused, then terrified. He looks at the board long and hard. I start to laugh hysterically as the man next to me says "He has 45". D tables 45o. I have to walk away from the table and almost hurt myself laughing. |

I was playing $4/$8 this weekend at commerce. Several callers, a player in MP raised, more callers, I 3-bet with AKs in late position. The player on the button got this really irritated look on his face and proceeded to fold POCKET ACES face up. He then said, "Aces have no chance of winning with this many players and this much action preflop". The funny thing was, half of the other players at the table spent the next 5 minutes talking about how right he was and how that was the smart thing to do. I think some of them were actually serious! Of course the original raiser won the HUGE pot with unimproved pocket QQ.
