100NL trips IP facing push - scary board, ever fold?
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
SB: $100.00 BB: $23.00 UTG: $107.15 MP: $43.90 CO: $316.70 Hero (BTN): $101.10 Preflop: Hero is dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG raises to $4.00, MP folds, CO calls $4.00, Hero calls $4.00, SB calls $3.50, BB folds Flop: ($17) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players) SB checks, UTG checks, CO checks, Hero bets $13.00, SB raises to $35.00, 2 folds, Hero raises all-in to $97.10, SB calls all-in for $61.00 Uncalled bet of $1.10 returned to Hero Villain is 26/9/1.2 (180 hands). What's his most probable holding here? Overpair (!!!), two pair, trips, FD+SD, TP+FD or SD? Should we ever fold without any reads? Maybe wait for the turn card before we push and if something scary turns, shutdown? |

What if in the 2nd hand we raise to $35 and he pushes? Call?

yes, don't fold sets, it's really that simple.

I don't think I'd ever fold here.
I would expect to see a monster draw like Ah 7h or Ah 5h. Or, of course, a lower set. |

i don't fold either hand as combo draws play aggressive, first hand could easily be a lower set as well

Re: 100NL trips IP facing push - scary board, ever fold?
never ever fold top set. you have good equity against a made straight and crush everything else
his range is mainly 2 pairs, sets, combo draws and straights and other hands are possible depending on how bad he is. you don't want to see a turn card, for the reason you say; you do't want to fold the turn if a scarecard hits, because he might have hit a flush, for example, or he may have a lower set and you still crush him. also a scary turn card, such as the 5 of hearts will not allow you to get any value out of other sets and 2 pairs which you could have easily stacked on the flop |
