Default $25NL...Donk bet dry board.

Villain has only played 4 hands so no real reads.

How would you interpret the donk over-bet on this flop? I Was playing pretty aggressive at this table and thought that he may have interpreted my pre-flop raise as a steal. Im struggling to think what hand he would play this way other than complete air. A flopped straight or set would surely more likely check-raise or put in a bet size more likely to be called. Im confused !

fold...let it go , dont fight 2 hard for small pots ..

shove. His range is huge. He is short. Your hand is good here ALOT.

I would shove for the reasons above. Your hand has good equity against the average shorty here.

Ok....I'll admit that I bottled it and folded here, but was really not happy about it.

I admit tripz that AA has almost the same equity (depending on how big of a probability you give him TT, and AA/KK meaby?) allthough I would probably call w/ AA and shove w/ 99 here cause AA has a lot less scarecards (prob. none) on the turn.

Well yeah id play AA different, but my point is they are both equally playable in this spot.

I take your point.....obviously I would be more inclined to push in this spot with AA and I was very close to doing so with my 99. I just felt that I didn't know enough about the villain and I hadn't contributed much to the pot at this stage.

Perhaps its a leak of mine, but I like to gather a few hands on people before I get too brave

Thats not a bad strategy at all, but generally when i have an overpair to a dry board im pretty comfortable. Wont most players check a set here? Remember this is the flop you wanted, you cant just give up.
