What do i not know?

Seems like a poor attempt to discredit my argument.

[/ QUOTE ]

Your statements about what atheists believe are wrong. Atheists simply do not accept that there is a god. From there they have a wide variety of positions on other things. Many believe in goodness, altruism, morality etc.

"So how I feel when I'm drunk is correct?"

"Yes. Except the Dave Mathews Band does not rock."

*grunch*

i wish people making posts about the relationship between religion and morality would have some familiarity with the massive psychological research showing that most of our moral judgments and behaviors are intuitive and nonconscious. i think it's rare (outside of novels like crime and punishment) to see someone carry out the implications of atheism to their logical extreme. yes, yes, in a godless world, everything is permitted. but this fact doesn't dictate people's actions on a moment-to-moment basis. moreover, if someone justifies his immoral actions with his atheism, chances are the person suffers from a more profound lack of humanity that can't simply be remedied by a superficial religious faith.

Atheism does state there is no inherent goodness in humanity.

You may be an 'atheist' who believes there is inherent good in us but you would be wrong or stupid, because after all we are just well evolved animals not special righteous or anything else that would suggest the existence of God.

Atheism also states that white socks are an obvious fashion no-no.

O ps this is also why the notion of absolute or 'real' morals is also false in atheism.

While they may exist just like a building built for human need they are not 'real'.

(Just a side note.)

Please get it into your head that you are wrong. Wrong. WRONG.

Let me repeat: wrong.

once more: wrong.

Atheists don't believe god exists.

They can believe in absolute morality, universal morality, good, evil. They don't have to, but they can. There is no conflict.

How many thousand posts for this to sink in?
