Fold / Call / Shove? In retrospect, this looks like a Q trying to dodge the flush draw. Very general question, but what does cr 'tend to' mean at 25/50nl? |

Re: 50nl; flop decision against unknown
Its a minraise and he had less than 35bb's to start with. He could easily have an 8 or FD. I get it in here against a shortstack unknown. Not saying a Q is out of the question, but stack sizes make me lean towards getting it in

Re: 50nl; flop decision against unknown
Since UTG is so short-stacked, I would push.
More generally, the min-raise is a surprisingly popular play among fishy players (and even some TAGs) in the micros. Coming from an unknown, it can mean a wide variety of things. It's a common form of slowplay, but also people will do it with marginal hands and with draws in an effort to slow the action down and/or take control of the hand and to "see what they're up against." It also (surprisingly) will occasionally come from a hand like ace-high, in an apparent effort to imitate a slowplay. The play shows more strength as a checkraise than as a raise in position, though, although it's still not easy to interpret. |

Re: 50nl; flop decision against unknown
Good to hear,
I've been moping around since the cards fliped and villan showed Q8o. Saw him do the same thing 10min later so at least I'm able to take away some ideas regarding the importance of looking at how players bet. |
