Holy [censored], I had heard good things about Flight of the Conchords, but I didn't know it was this good. I can't stop watching the youtube clips.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I've been watching it a bit lately. Everyone loved it but I couldn't really get into it at first. It's grown on me, though, and the songs are genius. I don't understand why they don't just double-team the living [censored] out of Mel and live out every filthy fantasy they've ever had on her, though. I heard they used up a lot of their ideas the first season... they could get, like, three episodes just out of the sex scene.

[/ QUOTE ]

It wasn't the ideas for the shows exactly, it was the songs that they used up. The songs for the show were mostly written at various times in the last ~5 years, and they've been performing them. They wrote the episodes so that their songs could be involved, and then they wrote a few new ones specifically for the show. They've said the used about 98% of their songs in the first season, so they're not sure if they're going to do a second, and if they do it might only be 6 episodes or it wouldn't start for a long time so they could come up with some new ones.

Also worth checking out on youtube is Arj Barker, who is the comedian and actor who plays Dave on the show. He has a few pretty good stand-up bits.

Here's a great clip of Dave advising Bret and Jemaine that honesty is "always the best policy."

Sometimes Bret and Jemaine get serious and tackle the issues:

And this is their adaptation of it for the show:

This is probably their best song:

No one mentioned Scrubs? Just got into it a few months ago watching from the beginning on Netflicks. I'm on season 4 and it's still solid IMO. Did it tank in recent seasons?

Unfortunately. I was the biggest Scrubs fan ever for the first 3 seasons. Lately it's just barely worth watching. A shame.

[/ QUOTE ]

As you may recall from earlier in the thread, I'd never even heard of this show. I recorded it Thursday night and got to check it out yesterday. Yep....this show's hilarious. I'm definitely looking forward to watching it regularly in the future. Glad I opened this thread.

What I find weird about It's Always Sunny is how funny it manages to be without having any really outstanding writing/acting/directing etc.
