I know I don't speak for the entire forum.

I'm still interested in getting this book in spite of the fact that they did that to the quote.

By attributing it to "2+2 forum" they make it very much look like it is being endorsed by 2+2 and not like it just being recommended by some random poster there.

Pretty slimy imo.
That ad is awful.

Hi Bob:

I agree the ad is awful and I have asked D&B to remove it from their site. I have also told their publisher not to start any more threads here that are nothing but advertisements.

Best wishes,
Mason

Yep, I thought this was pretty low which is why I mentioned it.

Also, I just noticed that in another recent thread about D&B books the representative is called Dan Addelman.

Dan ADdelMAN???

No. No, surely not... It's just my mind playing tricks, right?

Mason - Yeah, there was already a thread about their book so starting a new thread to say it is now available seemed kind of weird.
The 2+2 quote in the ad was what gave me the more sour-taste though.
As I said before, I'm interested in reading the book.
But they are doing their darndest to turn me off so much that I might actually change my mind.

That's a down right offense clause to have in the terms and conditions.

It is offensive that they have the right to display in the forum what you choose to post there?

Wow, I never thought my putting the quote on our website would cause such a heated reaction. It certainly, I can 100% assure everyone, was not my intention to imply that 2+2 are endorsing our books. That of course would be crazy. I should have thought more about the quote before posting it. I believe Adman has put a similar sentiment on Amazon so I will use that instead.

And for those that thought Adman was me! Very funny! I am a publisher, not a poker player and I wouldn't know where to start putting a poker-orientated quote on the site. Byron Jacobs is D&B's expert and I think you all know him quite well.

Finally I want to apologise to Adman. I don't know who you are but thanks a lot for the great words on our book. I was pretty excited to read you thought so highly of it I just wanted to let the world know! I hope I haven't caused you upset by using them in this manner. You can drop me a line via our website if you wish.

Dan.
