$1/$2 5/6s deep stacked, am I on trouble on the flop?
SB is a very LAG player, more often dumping to the table than not. UTG +1 is a very solid TAG player, and the cut off is a semi-solid player who plays a lot of mediocre hands when he gets deep stacked in the hope of cracking a big stack.
SB: $225 BB: $195 UTG: $200 UTG+1: $285 5 Seat: $155 6 Seat: $55 CO: $475 BTN (You): $695 Preflop: You are dealt 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, <font color="red"> UTG +1 bets $12 </font>, 5 Seat folds, 6 Seat folds, <font color="red"> CO calls </font>, <font color="red"> You call $12 </font>, <font color="red"> SB calls $12 </font>, BB folds. Flop: ($50) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="red"> SB bets $35 </font>, <font color="red"> UTG +1 calls $35 </font>, <font color="red"> Co calls $35 </font> You do what? Now this is a very unusual circumstance at our game. SB is capable of betting with anything, but when UTG +1 calls, I'm almost sure that they are sharing aces, with UTG having a much better kicker. I have no idea what the cut off has. It's possible he has a straight draw, or a higher diamond draw, so I'm at a loss as to what to do here. What actually happens is that I get time called on me and end up putting in $35. Now the turn is a great card for me, making my decisions much easier, so I'd like the biggest amount of criticism/ input for this street. <font color="black"> Turn: </font> ($190) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="red"> SB bets $60 </font>, UTG +1 says he knows he has the SB beat, but has no idea whats going on behind him and folds. <font color="red"> Co calls </font>, hero does what? Almost certain that the CO has diamonds now, if he was chasing any straight draws, he almost certainly hit, and he would definitely have pushed. The weak bet from the SB also makes me convinced that he's playing a weak ace, certainly not 2 pair so the turn gave me 5 additional outs. What do I do here? |

Re: $1/$2 5/6s deep stacked, am I on trouble on the flop?
I'd generally raise flop because it's unlikely that they have a set (maybe SB) because I would think they'd raise it. I think you're right a decent amount of time about sharing aces.
I don't think that they're gonna fold to a raise and you have decent equity against them if they're sharing aces - so if you can get CO to fold if he has diamonds you're in great shape - here's how it'd look if they share aces: 903 games 0.001 secs 903,000 games/sec Board: 7d 9d As Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 48.394% 48.39% 00.00% 437 0.00 { 6d5d } Hand 1: 43.300% 42.64% 00.66% 385 6.00 { AcKc } Hand 2: 08.306% 07.64% 00.66% 69 6.00 { AhJs } If one player does have a set, our equity drops a lot but it's still decent if no one but CO will fold: 903 games 0.005 secs 180,600 games/sec Board: 7d 9d As Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 36.877% 36.88% 00.00% 333 0.00 { 6d5d } Hand 1: 02.104% 02.10% 00.00% 19 0.00 { AcKc } Hand 2: 61.019% 61.02% 00.00% 551 0.00 { 7h7s } It all really depends on CO, but I think I raise to like 235 or something and then shove any non-pairing turn. As played, you're getting really decent odds, so just call and look for two pair, trips, straight or flush - if CO bets when a diamond comes you can fold/call depending on how you view CO, but if you make a hand and they check to you it's definitely a value bet. |

Hmm I never even considered raising the flop. The thought to raise the turn did cross my mind though. Thanks for the input, I'll be looking that post over for awhile.
Edit: do those numbers take into account if 2 of my diamonds are now in the muck like I think they are? |

Also - if CO comes along, your equity drops severely:
820 games 0.001 secs 820,000 games/sec Board: 7d 9d As Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 18.415% 18.41% 00.00% 151 0.00 { 6d5d } Hand 1: 46.220% 45.49% 00.73% 373 6.00 { AcKc } Hand 2: 08.232% 06.95% 01.28% 57 10.50 { AhJs } Hand 3: 27.134% 26.59% 00.55% 218 4.50 { KdJd } Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 820 games 0.001 secs 820,000 games/sec Board: 7d 9d As Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 14.390% 14.39% 00.00% 118 0.00 { 6d5d } Hand 1: 01.829% 01.83% 00.00% 15 0.00 { AcKc } Hand 2: 64.512% 64.51% 00.00% 529 0.00 { 7c7s } Hand 3: 19.268% 19.27% 00.00% 158 0.00 { KdJd } Or if SB has an ace and flush draw, we're in bad shape as well: 903 games 0.005 secs 180,600 games/sec Board: 7d 9d As Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 17.608% 17.61% 00.00% 159 0.00 { 6d5d } Hand 1: 36.545% 35.88% 00.66% 324 6.00 { AdJd } Hand 2: 45.847% 45.18% 00.66% 408 6.00 { AcKc } But I still think I raise especially if I think CO can fold T8s or JT or something. |

full ring- fold the flop. Up against nut flush too often.
Even 6max I'd probably drop it although action would probably go a little differently. |

Re: $1/$2 5/6s deep stacked, am I on trouble on the flop?
Hmmm I strongly believed that UTG+1 had the stronger ace. If he didn't raise I wouldn't put either of them on an ace and a flush draw. Thats a pretty good argument for a raise on the flop, I wish I'd done it now.
