I was suggesting they change addresses, not move out of Iran. I think if you were a native Iranian, born and raised in Iran, you would more than likely not be trying to GTFO ASAP.

since iran is an islamic state I would imagine "gay" is against the law.

anybody know if "gay" is against the law in israel? I imagine it isn't, but it seems like it should be since israel is a religous state founded on judaism the same way iran is a religious state founded on islam, and "gay" is against the law in both islam and judaism.

Homosexuality is not illegal in Israel. There is a very big gay scene in Israel, including a Gay Pride parade in Tel Aviv every year. Homosexuality (as long as its not violating any public decency laws or whatever) is tolerated openly in all cities (with the exeption of the ultra religious).

Also, Israel is not a religious state and wasnt founded as such. Your comparison to Iran is totally incorrect. Israeli law is based on British Law (amongst others). Some pseudo religious law is on the books i think, though that is due to political agreements with religious political parties. Marriage and divorce are an example I think, but any problems with religious law are usually easily bypassed.
