Default Another AK Adventure late in Stars $1 donkament

20 left of 1697, I am in 11th overall.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t5000 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO (Hero) (t118484)
Button (t35484)
SB (t189740)
BB (t61820)
UTG (t160178)
MP1 (Villain) (t90792)
MP2 (t183874)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333"> Villain raises to t10000</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t35000</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333"> Villain raises to t90292 and is all-in</font>,

Have not seen too many hands from him but villain has been playing pretty loose/aggressive so far. He recently lost about 40% of his stack. The initial min bet looks suspicious but he has opened for various amounts and this is not the first time he has raised by this amount. Are you calling here?

I call every time.

It's a $1 tourney, average villain will minraise/4-bet shove with quite a wide range...yeah you'll occasionally run into a monster but more often than that it'll be a weaker ace...most often you're off to the races

If his range is JJ+ AKo, AKs you have 40% equity against his range. If you add TT and AQs in you have 42% Equity. You are getting good enough odds to call, I think only if you thought his range was QQ or KK+ would this be a -EV call. I also think villian is pushing some smaller PP's. I call.

Folding would be a big mistake.

You're getting slightly better than 2:1. He'd have to be the tightest of rocks for this to be -ev, and even then it'd be a tiny mistake.

This makes no sense. It is is +EV or -EV. If it is -EV, it isn't a tiny mistake.

I think you can have big mistakes and "tiny" mistakes.

Say the call is -EV 5 chips, thats a bit different to it being -EV 10000 chips right?

If it's barely -EV, then it is barely a mistake. Tiny, you might say.
