If I'm lurking into a new forum I usually sort by viewcount because those are sometimes the best threads -> usually means the thread has been linked to from other places.

I think we should change it to >25.
Thread is worthless until it's been viewed at least 25 times. After that it doesn't matter. Everyone knows this.

I agree, if you used a thread count view to decide if you should read it, you shouldnt read it. Get rid of column.

Folks,

As I'm sure at least some of you have surmised, the reason for the (maybe temporary change) is that some of our users have decided that large view counts, even if artificially created, are a good thing. Unfortunately twice in the last 3 weeks this has increased the load on the forums to the point where they become unusable. This wastes all of our time.
