I agree with TT here.

the c/c/c line is one that I have advocated several times now in this forum, for exactly the reasons TT mentioned, and I have no idea why people continue to express disdain for it.

[/ QUOTE ]

two reasons.

1) People have no clue how to play in HU pots.

2) Its more fun to raise.

This is also the reason why many good players who arent 2+2'ers laugh at the forums here, players don't know how to adjust - its 100% monkey poo flinging! lots of fun, but doesn't always get you the $$$.

PS: all of this is discussed in Stox's excellent book.

I employ the C/C line at times. I think some people have it ingrained in theio heads that calling=weak all the time. That is just not true.

Since you're the only one disagreeing with gaining an extra SB when villain is drawing to 5 outs at best, why not tell us?

[/ QUOTE ]

What makes you think the villain is drawing to 5 outs? What if the villain has a queen? Or a flush draw?

[/ QUOTE ]

lol that's why it's "5 outs at best, a lot"

And if you've been playing with him long enough you'll know if he's capable of B/F or not.

This isn't a "raise to find out where we're at" this is a "raise because we're beating his range"

again, talking about on a 2 spade board/

Main villain is in one of those 'playing every hand cause im hot now' modes, saying things like "what the hell, one time dealer"

[/ QUOTE ]

I like TT's point of view and I need to integrate that kind of thinking into my game, but the read tells me a raise might have more value. If the guy says "one time," he's joining us for a long ride so we can collect an extra sb on the flop without fear that he's folding the turn.

I see what TT's talking about, but I was kind of going on the read. I love the discussion though, will process later.

Ahhh, i see. That makes sense. I guess my thought process went:

Ok, since he is a call down monkey, if I raise him and he has a low pair, he'll call. Therefore, I gain the extra SB AND the BB's to come when he check/calls turn and river.
