Default Tough call with a set

Party 25 NL 6 max

Hero is on the button with $24
Villain is MP1 with $34, very loose 56/4/1 but not a total idiot.

Pre-flop:
Villain limps
Hero has 10 10 and bets $1
The blinds fold and Villain calls

Flop$2.40) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villain cheks and Hero bets $2
Villain min raises and Hero calls

Turn$10.40) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain pushes all in
Hero ?

Against a TAG I would lay this down but here I'm very confused.

I don't lose much money on bottom set, so this as a call. I don't like villains minraise, but his betting pattern seems too strange to indicate sufficient strength

Most villians go crazy with two pair here. You're probably ahead, if not you've got 10 outs. Call.

What are you afraid of? The only hands that beat u here are AA and KK. He limped preflop so he can't be holding those two hands. Maybe he decided to limp those preflop, but then he min raises the flop? I think he is just trying to pick up the pot maybe with a pair of A's or K's possibly.

He's afraid of QJ.

QJ is also a very possible holding here as well. 2 things to add here:

1) RAISE MORE PREFLOP!!! Too often in the ssnl games, people are terrified of raising too much and not getting action. I promise you that if you raise to $1.5, you'll still get action.

2) Call and hit one of your 10 outs to crack his QJ or crush his 2 pr.

any reason you didn't repop on the flop? you really don't want to see another piece of broadway in case he's holding AQ/AJ/KQ/KJ.

i'm much more likely to fold this to a TAG. a 56/4 is definitely a total idiot. i shrug my shoulders, click call and expect to see A6o half the time. honestly, these guys think top pair is the nuts, and if top pair happens to be an ace, just start counting their stack in your bankroll 'cause it's allll coming over.

I put him on two pair and called. Now I think I should have raised to $8 on the flop. He showed QJ. I lost two other all-ins today when I floped a set and the villain floped a straight or hit his draw on the turn so it really made me question my strategy. I played 7400 hands today to clear the bonus so I'm starting to think crazy thoughts like laying down sets at 25NL 6-max.
