AKs river overcall
5 handed
Not much of a read on either Villain, HJ has played 8 of his first 10 hands, slightly aggro but not too much. SB is 43/0/.6 only over 16 hands. Hero opens A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] utg, HJ calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds. Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] check, hero bets, 2 calls. Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] check, hero bets, call, SB raises, both call. River: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Sb checks, hero checks, HJ bets, SB calls, hero getting 13:1? |

Re: AKs river overcall
You were behind on the turn. Now you're even further behind.

Re: AKs river overcall
I don't mind a call here at all. 13 to 1 with tptk and some slightly confusing action. I'd like to hear some arguments for a fold though. It's trouble taking sb's read with only 16 hands, he's basically an unknown.

Re: AKs river overcall
Without good reads on what SB will check raise I'm calling 1 bet (though it's likely he has 2 pair or better you will sometimes find them check raising a weaker K) I think HJ is definately capable of betting this river with a bluff or a lower pair.
Getting 13:1 I'm not folding for 1 bet. |

Re: AKs river overcall
Isn't there a small chance Hero's hand is good here? I would call here given the great pot odds. You don't need to be good very often for a call to be profitable.
It seems like SB could have easily have a K with a worse kicker, though 2 pair is likely. HJ is to be representing the straight, but he could just be taking a shot at the pot. While you don't have the best hand often, it seems like you win often enough to make this call. |

Re: AKs river overcall
agree with mute. sb has you beaten on the turn a lot with twopair+ and he got scared of teh river. hijack's bet there is so crazy with less than one pair. you're crushed. there's only one king left for hijack to have............

Re: AKs river overcall
aight, just a reality check, been folding alot of river winners. SB had AK, HJ had K4o (?!?). So I had HJ drawin to 3 outs, on a freeroll with, and somehow managed to donate half the pot.

Re: AKs river overcall
shows how ridiculous everything has to be for you to actually fold a winner.
SB's preflop play is laughable. most players who do that preflop will then DONK the turn when they hit the K. HJ coldcalls preflop with K4o. he calls a J87 flop (lol). he then calls a bet and pot protected c/r with basically no hand. then, when he has 0% chance of having the best hand or getting two folds, he bluffs the river. awesome! |
