I like to keep my avatars off because I was making decisions based on their choice of an avatar and not relying on their stats. Like Oh this person raises me on the flop and has a picture of a baby, I bet I can raise them off this hand! im all in! I also think your avatar pic is important to the way people percieve how you play. I made a post long ago about the Variance I had when I played as "Afroman" on FTP instead of the puppydog. people are much more likely to play back at you if u use the afroman.
if u have no HUD then i recommend using avatars, but if you use a HUD then turn avatars off and focus on stats and notes. Also if you are a serious multitabler, you dont want things like avatars distracting you, in fact you want everything to be as easy on the eyes as possible so custom table, custom cards, no images.

That said, I keep them on unless it tilts me. Very rarely does this happen, but I do have a few images blocked.

[/ QUOTE ] LOL @ being so cold and calculating when choosing images. I just picked the "Ill stab you c***" baby because that picture really made me laugh. Same thing with my avatar on here. As long as we have these avatar experts around, what effect do you think a picture of a baby wombat would have on people, and what kind of image would it project?

I play Stars and FT.
On Stars I keep my own avatar and turn everyone else's off. In FT I play without avatars, but I use the surfer guy as I think it gives off the impression I am simply there for a good time and not to win. I also turn all chat off as it can only distract me. I used to be ok with chat until recently when a guy started with me about calling raises in position after I stacked him with 86s v his AA on 885 flop. I ended up shipping him back his stack later though as I took a chance bacause I really really really wanted to stack him again. Ever since, no more chat.
