Also, id rather 'trade position' with a truly great online player like durrrr, Jman or Aba. But thats mainly because i like money and would like to think im better than all live players on any given day.

3 Million a year from endsorment deals > 1 million a year playing online.

This is exactly the point I was making...

Also when i said internet poker was for peanuts, I meant compared to earning potential of some of these pros (into the future vs grinding against tougher and tougher comp) and also that poker in general is not a great way of making money compared to other industries.

Which of the players on HSP make 3 million a year from endorsement deals?

It doesn't have to be $3 mil a year, how many online pros make 1? The main point is that online comp is going to get harder and harder (if you do not believe this you are fooling yourselves), yet most of these live pros are going to have marketability outside of actually grinding in poker games for the next 10 years to come.

Donks will still be buying their products but the donks are not going to be playing 25/50 nl.

It is not a popular opinion, i am just not very optimistic on poker in general as a means to make serious money, and would really suggest anyone thinking of doing it full time reconsider. I tell this to my friends all the time (we live in vegas and every other day someone thinks that they are going pro.

I point out that there is way more money to be made by rising up the ranks of the gaming industry than there is grinding their way up to the big games around town (or on the internet for that matter). It'll be interesting to see where all these pros are in 10 years, I hope that they are investing wisely instead of buying 100k sportscars, leave that to high ranking executives.

Its amazing how many people just IN THIS THREAD are good enough 5-10 players that they could comment on top pros' competence in poker.

And whoever said online poker is on the decline is absolutely right. Unless they make buying chips easier, numbers for the WSOP will continue to go down.
