I looked up Barry's house on Zillow.com. It's over 12,000
sq ft and it is valued at $5.2 million. Frankly, I thought it would be worth more because it overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It's impressive but it pales in comparison to many of the Beverly Hills and Brentwood estates. It's a lot easier to be Tobey Maquire and rake in $25 million a picture than to be Barry. As Tobey found out, it takes more skill to beat poker than to stand in front of a camera and say I'm your friendly neighborhood Spiderman.

I can understand BH and Brentwood being more expensive despite lack of ocean views because of how close it is to hollywood/downtown LA, shopping, and that whole scene. Palos Verdes is in the South bay, fairly isolated for LA, and can be up to an hour to get to downtown LA if it's rush hour.

I am an appraiser and I would take the over.

The county website will have a description of the house for property tax purposes and its assessed value. Keep in mind that CA assessed values do not reflect market value, though. That would be the absolute low end of the range. If BG has lived in the house for a while, it could be worth much more than the assessed value.

yeah this confused me. At the end doesnt he say all his children are between the ages of 18-32? So who the [censored] are all these little kids sleeping in sleeping bags?

[/ QUOTE ]

my guess is by "kids" he means anyone under 30, and I bet he, and his kids, will often invite friends over, and that those people stay in sleeping bags if a couch, or guest bedroom isn't available.

However, i am going to have to side with those people who werent that impressed with the interior design of the house.
I think the bathroom/living room idea is kind of tacky. The columns in the house looked out of place. And the red carpeting was too striking.

Barry's taste is obviously going to be different than that of the mainstream upper class. He explained very well that he has spent a lot of time in casinos and that's where the design ideas came from. saying "this is my world." I can't think of a single reason someone shouldn't make their own decisions when it comes to designing their place of residence, even though that may mean offending the petty sensibilities of some people on the internet.

I mean, he has his family are the ones that lives there you know.

It doesn't matter where or when you see barry talking, he's always articulate and you can tell whatever he's saying is well thought out.

You are wrongly implying that Tobey had aspirations to be a pro poker player and that acting doesn't actually require a lot more talent and luck than poker to begin with.
