While working for a city engineer I got to drive his car around for a few summers, pretty much all day every day. I sped everywhere, max I got it up to was about 110-115 on a road I really shouldn't have been going 60+ on, but it was ridiculous amounts of fun. Don't really feel the need to try to go that fast anymore though. =\

180 indicated on a friends 2002 hayabusa

when it hit 150 and was still pulling like a raped ape, that was the scariest part of the entire thing.

165MPH in my 2002 Z06:

The dumbest speed related driving I've ever done was going 105MPH in a friend's Neon on I90 back when Montana didn't have speed limits. That felt many times shakier than 165 in the Vette.

To the guy who asked about radar detectors, there is only one radar detector worth buying:

Valentine One

thats kinda expensive... what does it do so much better than the one I asked about? I think mid range would suffice, right?

They all do the same thing, no?

I don't know the first thing about radar detectors, but the answer is obviously that they all do the same thing, but some do it a lot better.

That question tilts me.

Probably no faster than 100ish, as I've only owned a '97 Escort and a '96 Maxima. Prior to that I got to cruise around in my parent's Plymouth Horizon, Dodge Aires and Dodge Omni. WEEEHOOO!!!!

I was a passenger in a Grand Prix that went 84... in a speed limit 5 zone (country club dirt road). Anyone else go 16.8 times the speed limit? YEAH...

Did someone actually claim to go 150 in a Beretta?? Lmfao. Maybe 115 if you were lucky...
Fastest i've ever gone was in my 1998 Camaro SS. Approx. 160. I had it redlining in 5th gear racing a 1997 Mustang Cobra on 394 west of Mpls. Girlfriend was screaming her lungs out. In a car with no window frames the windows started flapping at about 150. It also got real floaty around 150. I am lucky to be alive. I did win the race and it was pretty cool because me and the other guy knew each other and had each bought the cars just a couple days before the race. It was close though.
I hit about 140 in my 01 Z28. This car was way faster (mods)but was geared for acceleration. Actually had more fun racing that car against my buddys dad's 96 Viper. I almost always beat him but we shut it down around 120. I REALLY want a new Z06!

Not that this was the dumbest thing about what you did, but driving a car that hard when it's that new (assuming you bought it new) is a pretty bad idea as well. Even if there isn't a stated break-in period, you're supposed to go easy on cars during their first 1K miles or so.
