[ QUOTE ] 5) Add some kind of "player of the year" competition where the winner is whoever gets the most TLB points in the WCOOP events. Give the winner a special bracelet. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, they really need to do this, except make the prize more meaningful than a "special bracelet." Aston Martin maybe? [/ QUOTE ] They actually did this in 2002: http://www.pokerstars.com/wcoop/2002/best-player/ but for 10k, not a car |

Re: *** Official WCOOP 2008 Suggestions***
most of the players who make the final tables are from europe.
it would be nice if they could move at least some of the events so they start 3-6 hours earlier. |

[/ QUOTE ] Through 15 events, counting the last 8 of the heads-up as the "final table", there have been 54 US + 6 Canada + Brazil, compared to 53 Europe, along with 3 New Zealands, an Australia, and a Korea. A compromise might be something along the lines of one event at 13:00 ET/18:00 GMT and one event at 18:00 ET/23:00 GMT each day. |

Re: *** Official WCOOP 2008 Suggestions***
Really small and going-to-be-overlooked argument for shorter playing stints:
I'm an old hardcore gamer. Eventually if online poker becomes the online powerhouse that gaming has, there will be that one fellow who plays too long and suffers a medical complication. If at least one case of this hasn't happened every year in computer gaming, it would be a joke for me to bring up, but that is the case. |

Re: *** Official WCOOP 2008 Suggestions***
I will play a 2 day event(or 2 or 3) next year but will not enter an event with a expected 20+ hour timeline. Have the day break at ITM time or a bit later. People will play if they know "I can blow off work or family if I am ITM and might score big". If I did play a 20+ event I would have to have someone else play for a few hours so I could make it.
Mix the events... some will only do 2 days, some like single 20+ hours better. THey don't have to all be the same. Same with start time. Have some start 3 hours earlier or later and you will have a larger % of yanks or euros in this event or that, but overall more people. More rake, more people, more setup, more work.....better |
