Re: 200NL: DEEP AA vs strange TagFish...
Those hands tells me he sucks. I still think hand one is an easy fold as played.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I like a turn check here, because I don't think that you'll lose value by checking one street. I think that this is more important than protecting your hand versus possible draws. [/ QUOTE ] Of course you lose value against AQ, KQ, QJ, T9, 65. You must bet the turn. Bet/folding >>> check/calling [/ QUOTE ]So KJ/QJ is calling 3 streets unimproved? No way. KJ/QJ is more likely to call a river bet then a turn bet imo. Of course you'll lose some value against draws, but you may also induce a (semi-)bluff when you check to villain, plus you keep the pot managable. [/ QUOTE ] Your giving free cards on a draw heavy board with 1 pr think about it. Losing tons of value by not bettingt the turn on such a draw heavy board. If villain has AQ/KQ they often call down as they put you on a draw themselves. |

Re: 200NL: DEEP AA vs strange TagFish...
The AA hand well played. You'll get 3 streets of value vs Qx often so I don't like checking the turn for pot control. I'll bet smallish on the river if called. The fold when he raises is easy. Not only will bet/folding turn and river win you more when ahead, but it also allow you to get away on the turn if he raises while check/calling will put you in a tough spot on the river.
Edit: Given those other hands checking turn is ok to induce, he seems spazzy. Don't fold anywhere if you take this line. Still prefer betting turn. |

Hero's line doesn't look like he's on a draw, so I didn't really get that comment. If I bet turn here the main reason would be protection, not for value. |

Yeah, or they reraise you, because they put you on a draw forcing you to fold the best hand. [/ QUOTE ] While it's reasonable hero would play a draw like this, it's not likely villain will put hero on a draw. Mainly because few will play a draw this aggressive. Even if he realise hero might have a draw I don't think he'll raise KQ or even AQ this deep for protection. [ QUOTE ] If I bet turn here the main reason would be protection, not for value. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. I would rather say the opposite, I bet because there's a lot of value to collect vs Qx. Protection is good to, but the flop was pretty dry. |

This might be caused by the fact that I play nitty (18/15); people don't pay me off like that. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, and it means it's unlikely villain raises the turn for protection. I still think he'll call down with at least AQ/KQ hoping for KQ/QJ, a small percentage of bluffs/missed draws etc. |

[/ QUOTE ] How do you know though, if you don't fire turn and river in these spots? I find people will talk themselves into calling pretty often, even villains who should know better. And I play with similar stats as you. Just because we are deep, doesn't mean we should stop betting for value. Once he raises, we are beat 95% of the time though at this level. |
