Even if there were some law against it, which I doubt,I cannot envision a scenario where Panama would look at enforcement against individuals residing there for playing poker online.

Belize City is not somewhere you want to live. It has all the drawbacks of other hot, humid places (like Panama) and none of the advantages .... except the official language is English.

D$D, Belize should be a non-starter.

I do not live there, but I have visited. There are much better places to look.

"it is only legal to gamble in casinos there."

I do not forsee Costa Rica ever enforcing a law against an individual playing poker online, if there is such a law.

Belize City isn't even on the radar for me. Did you go anywhere outside the city? I'm more interested in smaller towns (10K or so) that are somewhat modernized....

Hey as long a the governemnt is stable and the legal system is less corupt than Louisiana's then I'm willing to give it a look. English as an offical language is a biggie for me. I can learn my 3rd or 4th language, but when you get to dealing in legal and money matters I don't want to miss a sylable.

But I'm looking to build or buy a compound like you see south of Cancún in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. I'm a sucker for the Gulf. I looked into Mexico, but Mexican real restate was a nightmare. There is always the Caribbean but not the same bang for your buck. That and I'm not in the private island league.

If we could just get Fidel good and dead, there would be some land deals to be had!

With any third world country or even first world country, if you have money, you can get a ID w/o problems.
