Re: setting 99
I'm glad this gets to be my 100th post beacuse I am a natural smart ass...
[ QUOTE ] Poker Stars Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $0.50/$1 10 players Converter Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is UTG+1 with 9 9 UTG calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, MP3 3-bets, 4 folds, UTG calls, Hero calls. Flop: 9 J A (10.5SB, 3 players) UTG checks, Hero checks, MP3 bets, UTG calls, Hero leaves money on the table [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] River: T (12.75BB, 3 players) UTG checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls, UTG raises, Hero wimps out completely [/ QUOTE ] I can only be a smart ass about this because I've done it myself, actually a lot. Now go look under your bed, accept the fact that there are no monsters there and bet this [censored] hand until somone bleeds. As to what the rest of you are talking about in this thread ... |

Re: setting 99
There is a huge difference between 'seeing monsters under the bed' and putting your opponent on a range of hands and determining if you have EV or not.

Re: setting 99
I understand being a smart ass as well as anyone
but I think this is an overstatement... [ QUOTE ] Hero wimps out completely [/ QUOTE ] Hero showed strength and was raised. I think just calling with that board is far from "completely" wimping out. |

[ QUOTE ]
There is a huge difference between 'seeing monsters under the bed' and putting your opponent on a range of hands and determining if you have EV or not. [/ QUOTE ] So what's the range? KQ (16 ways) (your obvious choice) A9 (3 ways) AT (9 ways) AJ (9 ways) J9 (3 ways) JT (9 ways), there could be more, how about AK?. UTG, the checkraiser, has been sandwiched. He never coldcalled post flop. AT is the most likely. So 33 (maybe 42 if you like AK and I do) hands total, MHIG against 17 of the 33 or 52%. 3 in the pot now even if MP3 mucks, my 3 bet is still +EV. Now back to being a smart ass... Please note the tasteful and articulate use of emphasis in my recent posts. |

[/ QUOTE ] You need to assign a 'likelyness' factor to the hands though based upon his play. KQ: A loose call on the turn but otherwise it fits Ax: Doesn't make much sense as he didn't bet/raise on the flop or turn J9: Again doesn't seem to fit as he didn't bet/raise on the flop or turn JT: A loose peel on the turn but otherwise seems reasonable |
