($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t120/t240 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t3370 UTG+1: t5405 CO: t1950 Button: t375 SB: t1460 Hero: t940 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, Button raises all-in t375, SB calls t255 (pot was t735), Hero? SB has been pretty tight, doubled up with 66 vs. my TT a few hands ago. BTN is not the factor, but I'm affraid I will be dominated by SB so often... On the other hand I have less than 3bb after posting. Call and push any flop? Fold? |

Re: ($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
Youre getting 990:135 ~ 8:1 odds I think you have to call here as you have position on SB and if you spike an ace you very well may be good.

Re: ($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
I think you have to at least call in this spot. I probably just shove it in as A hi is decent in this spot. You're so short anyways that you just have to find a ok spot to get your chips in and a4o isn't that bad.

agreed, blinds are going to kill you and ace high is better than what you could be getting it in with

Folding here would be terrible.

Re: ($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
isnt this a mandatory shove??? the pot is like ~1000 and we only have 700. if u r saying call, does that mean that the dry pot is enough to protect us from getting bluffed post flop???

Re: ($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
I shove...I really don't like calling. A4o is not a multiway hand and chipping up here is much more important than knocking out the button.

Re: ($24) Shorty in the awkward situation
I really don't understand sb call - he should isolate from bb and raise if he has anything, instead of giving such huge odds, thats weird. but as it gets with such odds at least a call is mandatory, and i wonder which is best push or a call, push wont make sb fold anything i guess.. while there are some sorts of flop he might -check fold from sb with some hands. we can always call hes push on any flop and get back to push pre scenario.. thoughts..
