Re: NL200 - AK oop in rr pot
[ QUOTE ]
Yep, against a nit raise/calling UTG, u r crushed most of the time. It's worth considering flat-calling preflop because I doubt he's folding all that much of his range and now you get to play a bloated pot OOP. [/ QUOTE ] That's an interesting point. . . I thought about just cold calling, but because I was oop I thought 3 betting would be better. I think that makes the hand easier most of the time by either getting UTG to fold or 4bet (to which I could easily fold). I just tried to run through the hand as if I did flat call PF. I would prolly c/r the flop & fold to a 3bet/shove. Although if villain were to just call my c/r, then I'd be lost again on the turn. |

If this player flat calls your c/r on this flop, what do you put him on that you beat? If he flat calls a flop c/r I believe if makes the turn a clear check/fold. |

You are sooo far behind villains range it hurts. Bail out. Don't rr a nit who raises UTG.

[/ QUOTE ] Usually it is b/c ideally you don't want to play the hand at all with AK OOP, so either steal it or get out, which works against most players, and if not you are in good shape vs. most calling ranges. But if Villain is the type to flat-call most of the time with a narrow range to start with (which most nits are in this spot I think) then it gets real real easy to lose a bunch of money. |
