I shove w/ JJ+ here and play it exactly the same.

In this situation, I pitched the hand.

LOL @ Folding AA.

Why lol?

Surely that follows from saying "this is quads". I think the point he was making is, "how sure are you that this is quads"

This can be like 99-AA sometimes so I'd call it w/ AA. Fold your 88 here. I mean, what can he have that you beat?

So you're the second to say that. Care to elaborate?

My hand is likely best when it's checked to me on the turn.
My hand is very vulnerable.
As people never fold a paired board to CBet these days, if he didn't believe me on the flop, he likely still thinks I'm FOS and will call any PP I'm beating - maybe even AHi.

Now granted, if C/R here, I have a decision to make, however I'd argue that even if I fold everytime he C/R, the equity I lose will likely be more than compensated for by the times he calls w/ a worse hand.

I'd call with probably JJ+ here, but expect to be about breaking even.

I strongly agree.

This is a perfect spot to apply pot control,
you have position, a medium strength hand, with good showdown value.

There's not much he's calling the flop with,
that can call this turn that you beat.
