30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
Final table of a very small live tournament (25 players)
Villain is solid and aggressive, has been chip leader for a while and on previous blind level (still 6 players) he raised with K8s and insta-called my 3x reraise allin with AK. Blind 1500-3000 Ante 300 Button 17000 SB-Villain 43500 Hero 37500 Payout is: 1st 300eu, 2nd 215eu, 3rd 125eu Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Button folds, SB raise to 9000, Hero shove. Is shoving ok here? Honestly im pretty sure im ahead of his range, and if I get called and win I pretty much have the tournament wrapped up. |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
so what is your question
if you think you are ahead of his range it's a clear shove. if not i would be careful, as he seems to call light, so not a good aim for a resteal. |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
lol, question is: Is my play ok?
Do you guys think KJo is ahead of a standard-LAG raising range here in 3-handed play? |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
Do you think he is likely to fold to the push?
There is more difference between 2nd and 3rd than 1st and 2nd (unusual payouts). I would rather not gamble to bust out here. Better to open push or play against the short stack. I gather no else considers the payout structure important here? |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
The question, as now properly formatted for this forum.....
[ QUOTE ] Do you guys think KJo is ahead of a standard-LAG raising range here in 3-handed play? [/ QUOTE ] I agree with the "Yes" another question.... Considering that this is a tourney and not a cash game, and the considering the situation, near the end, stacks, etc. is it worth the risk? I think this is an obvious "Yes" also, Thoughts ??? |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
Don't you want the short stack to go out first? I can't see how pushing is $EV+ if you expect to be called.
I also think you may have more FE in this situation than you think, which might make the push correct. |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
If his calling range is real light, this isnt a re-steal, its a value bet.
3 handed, he's lag, and its Blind v Blind play. i think you are well ahead of his range here. Based on the previous hand, I think you do alright against his calling range. You are slightly behind to all the aces, but only dominated by 2, and if he is calling with K8 you probably dominate a few of his as well. |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
I agree that you are ahead of his range, especially with the way he's been playing. I would probably shove here as well, especially since I think you have a lot of FE. He might be calling light, but you have a decent chipstack,I think he folds more often than you think here.
However, having said all that,is calling a bad play. Stacks are a little akward, but we do have position.Dunno if I would, but I'm wondering what you guys think? |

Re: 30eu live donkament - 3 players remaining
Thanks for all the answers!
My reasoning was more or less "I should be ahead of his whole raising range + he's gonna fold most hands considered that he's no longer a huge chip leader = i should push". I honestly didnt even think about calling, I wanted to win the 14.4K pot right away. I now realize its probably a very close call, Ill try to put the numbers in sng wiz or something similar and see what the results are. |
