flop is gross; which is probably the reason why people are making joke-responses

why isn't most of the money if not all of it already in before you get to the river?

i want some action with this type of hand. A raise doesn't seem the only 'right' play on the flop. it would definitely make my hand more deceptive to just call, especially considering the pre flop re raise i made. i dont mind giving him another card in position with the stacks this deep. the flat call will often encourage him to bet the turn, no? the turn raise didnt seem ridiculously small, did it?

Umm, your preflop re-raise added enough deception to your T8. Try to get it in on the flop, it's drawy and there's tons of draws/combo draws paying off. Also it's easy for villain to put you on a draw.

The turn raise is less than 1/2 pot on a drawy board.

Wouldn't bet-instacall be an extremely weird line for him to take with a set on the turn? He would want to at least think about how likely it is you're semibluffing a combo draw, etc, should he re-raise...

2500-3k on flop

shove 9-10k on turn into a 7.5k-8.5k pot

problem solved.
