NL100 flopped straight
Hi everyone,
first post here at 2+2. I'd like to get you guys opinion of the following hand. *** Handhistory for game 23916358 *** Blinds $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em - 22.09.2007 - 23:52 Maitland Seat 4 is the button Total number of players: 4 Seat 1: BornToWin ( $274.80 ) - in game Seat 2: Snoetie1985 ( $434.21 ) - in game Seat 4: goffy75 ( $93.35 ) - in game Seat 5: EarnestEager ( $72.95 ) - in game EarnestEager posts SB $0.50. Make Rebuy BornToWin posts BB $1. **** dealing down cards **** Dealt to EarnestEager [ Jh, Qc ] EarnestEager has made a rebuy Snoetie1985 folds. goffy75 calls $1. EarnestEager calls $0.50. BornToWin raises $3. goffy75 calls $3. EarnestEager calls $3. **** dealing flop **** [ Td, Kc, 9c ] EarnestEager checks. BornToWin bets $10. goffy75 folds. EarnestEager raises $25. BornToWin calls $15. **** dealing turn **** [ 8c ] EarnestEager checks. BornToWin bets $44. ...? I think I played the hand OK, maybe a somewhat loose call pf, and maybe a bigger raise on the flop. I'm getting good odds, but do I really win this 30% of the time? No reads or stats, but first impression is solid LAG. I really can only beat a (semi)-bluff. |

Re: NL100 flopped straight
I would raised larger to about $33 on the flop because you want to get more money in now before a card comes that kills your hand or beats you. It also makes the turn easier to play if the flush comes and makes him more likely to call if the turn brings a 4str8 and he doesn't have it.
As for the turn, it's an easy call since he raised pf from the blinds and the only hands within most ranges in that spot that you lose to are AcJc and AcTc. |

Re: NL100 flopped straight
Thanks for your reply. I think you're right about the flop raise, this particular LAG likes to play his draws. I'm giving him good odds by raising too small.
Anyway, I called (all in) and he showed Ac5c. |
