Default 25NL 77 vs AA did not guess it

Should I have folded to the $2 raise (I had not played a hand at this table in a long time, and I was in position)?
Why did BB check turn?

Wow. Um...

PF min-raise is bad, but calling the BB's 4bet is incredibly standard, and folding to it would be awful.

Fold flop because you have nothing.

River raise is just terrible. If you want to bluff, make a real raise. Folding would be best though.

EDIT: Also, I'm editing the title out of my reply...please change the title of your post so you don't give away the results.

When villain 4bets that small preflop, it's a pretty good sign that he's got something nice enough to raise AND to keep you in the pot. The flop is pretty scary for him as a lot of hands that could raise and then call a re-raise have either hit sets or OESD's. I might raise flop if villain has shown ability to lay down a big pair, but without that I might fold flop or call flop with the intention of b/fing turn (though maybe this is spew as well).

Seems like Villain checked turn for pot control. I think the river's ugly on both sides. Why minraise river?

Don't min-raise pre-flop.
Call the min raise pre-flop
Fold the flop.

Sorry, I should have provided more detail. I was teaching a 9-year old how to play (don’t think ‘teaching him badly’). There is only a certain amount of information I can give the 9-year old to process at a time—hence the strange play. But…when l was watching the play, I did not really understand the turn by the villain. He knows that he is ahead, but is worried about the draw. So why not bet into me? Or, do you think he thought I (meaning the 9-year old) already had the straight? But, that can’t be the case; I could not be playing 7 8 with how I played pre-flop.

Don't reraise preflop with 77. Call and play for a set.

I can't understand why BB would min-raise your reraise. That seems bad no matter what he has. So, calling that is good. But once you miss your set on the flop, just fold at the flop.

If you somehow call the flop, then fold at the river. The min-raise on the river is spew on top of the spew you made on earlier streets by reraising preflop with 77 and not folding on the flop. If you really think 77 might be best at the river, then just call. But folding there would have been better, too.

most people play passive in hands with no sidepot. that's why he didn't bet the turn.

[/ QUOTE ] if this is your usual play you're teaching him badly. just call preflop, fold flop, don't minraise river. what is calling on the river that you beat?

No, he is 9. I was just telling him the rules as he played. Next time I will do it on a free site.

Sidebar: are you serious about the Chargers in -07. I am willing to take that bet for rolls.
