I suppose only a 50 bb it is still early but I'm quite shocked that folding AJ on the button against one limper is actually a good play [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
If anything I'd at the very least limp in I suppose raising could be a risky play considering there isn't much to win, though it's a $10 stt and ppl call with any two face around 50% of the time or more.

The problem with limping is that you never really know where you stand postflop, if you hit.
You might play against a maniac who love overplaying A9 when he hits his ace & plays for stacks then, but often you only get real action from hands that beat you.
In an unraised pot a lot of hands are possible.

Are we advocating raising as the correct play or folding preflop [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
I did originally go for the raise myself [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
In my experience at this level I get a lot of people over playing JQ, JK, etc that maybe it's skewed my thinking into believing that raising is the best play here only because if you get called you'll be ahead most of the time when you hit your jack and ahead 50% of the time with your A. I've seen so many callstations at $10 and lower it's unbelievable.

raising is fine when you get a jack high flop, but if an ace flops, how happy are you really with 2 callers?

Exactly why I muck pre. When 10 tabling, it's easier and it's hard to play postflop.

I'm limping preflop. If you raise with AJ preflop and somebody calls you probably are behind. Weird flop action though. If I decide to continue playing on the flop I'm pushing all-in with the pot size pretty decent. As played though I would fold the flop. He limps/calls raise preflop; min-raises/calls flop bet; and pushes turn. I dont think tptk is good here.
