I'm crusing on the Norwegian Star in November. Web says they have Hold'em but no idea about the games. Anyone know anything about the game?

Re: Norwegian Cruise Poker?
Has been about 18 months, but the Star had 1 poker table - they played 4-8 limit with a horrendous rake - even with that, it is entirely +EV, unless you really get snake bitten/card dead.
What dates are your cruise. I am going on the Nov 8 cruise, which is a Classic Gaming Cruises poker cruise. They will bring poker tables, dealers, chips, etc onboard and set up in a meeting room onboard. |

Re: Norwegian Cruise Poker?
From the posts I've read I don't think you can beat the rake on cruise ships.

Re: Norwegian Cruise Poker?
We are going Nov 16. Just gonna miss the real poker cruise. I was hoping for a NL game. Oh, well. My brother in laws play (one well one poorly) so I guess I can screw around a couple nights.

From the posts I've read I don't think you can beat the rake on cruise ships. [/ QUOTE ] Completely false. With drunken idiots wandering over from the blackjack tables, along with inexperieced vacationers, these are the softest games in existence. If you can't beat these games, stop playing poker. |

[/ QUOTE ] The NCL cruises I have been on the casino has a single poker table. http://murph4qs.blogspot.com/2007/08/alaska-ii.html was the source for this image (I was on this cruise with the blogs author) They ran a couple of MTTs were they had unlimited rebuys for 1 hour but they took juice from each rebuy. Since there was only 1 poker table they used blackjack tables for the tournament. |

Re: Norwegian Cruise Poker?
I thought the rake is about 20% (unsure if it was capped, but if so the cap was very high)and the biggest game I remember reading about was $5-10 limit.
