Re: Fustrated, Tired, Hungry and Numb - 5hrs of poker
Ironman medals???
I can't even imagine collecting enough FTP points for a plasma screen TV but, actually, now that you mentioned it, that is VERY motivating! |

Re: Fustrated, Tired, Hungry and Numb - 5hrs of poker
You can get ironman medals by participating in the iron man challenge on FTP. Just click on the "My Promotions" tab in your Cashier and then click on the iron man promotion to see the details. Basically, the more FTP points you get each month and the more you play, the more iron man medals you are awarded each month. You can use these medals to buy FTP points or other things like cash bonuses or tournament entries. Even playing 50PL or 100PL you can earn a decent amount of points if you play often enough and assuming you play 4-6 tables or more.

Just face the fact that poker is your crack and you are its crackhead. In other words, join the club.

Last night was just the first time it really got to me sitting there waiting and waiting for a decent hand. I played maybe 7 hands and when you wait that long to shove into the pot and someone catches their miracle cards you just want to scream because your ass is numb, you're tired, and the profit you made on all your previous good plays just went out the window. [/ QUOTE ] Have you considered playing multiple tables? |

Re: Fustrated, Tired, Hungry and Numb - 5hrs of poker
On that note (Chunky), i'm in the same boat. When do I look to start multi-tabling? Also, I play FR, what about converting to 6-max? I'm only posting 2PTBB/100, but I've only logged 300 hands in PT and just finished working out of the last time I lost my buy in from a donk.
I was thinking of trying to multi-table after I had 1k hands logged @ 3-7ptbb/100+. |

Re: Fustrated, Tired, Hungry and Numb - 5hrs of poker
Ender,
Try opening another table next time you play. 2 tabling should be no problem at all, especially for full ring. Most players wouldn't be able to play 1 table of full ring without pulling their hair out, but it shows that you have good patience for the game if you can do it. Just try adding another table gradually every few times you play. Assuming you are a winning player, you are losing money by not playing more tables. The trick though is to only play as many as you can concentrate on at one time (you don't want to be making bad decisions because you have too many tables open, in which case this would hurt your winrate). I find adding 1 new table at a time works best, so start playing 2 tables until that is easy, then try and move up to 3, and so on. Also, if you are playing on a site that lets you resize your tables, make sure you resize them so you can see all or most of each table you are playing at. You'll get used to it, I used to think 3 tabling was tough but now I usually play 6-8 and it's pretty stress free. Keep in mind though that if you try out 6max it will be tougher to play more tables because there is more action. |

Vince you play NLH? Because 4-6 tabling Omahah Hi is difficult, especially for a beginner like me. I am two tabling now about all I can handle. I'll get there I guess.

Yeah Omaha Hi is damn hard to multi table when you're starting out. It's a fun game, but it's really easy to make mistakes and misread a board when you're still fairly new to the game.

Yeah, as far as multitabling goes I was talking about NLH. I'm not sure what the norm is for PLO.
