Re: 5/10 J10s flop decision
[ QUOTE ]
Either push or call and shove turn [/ QUOTE ] You are seeing the stack sizes right>? If you got the villain on an big overpair how isnt he going to call getting those odds by a turn reraise by us...and how isnt he going to push or at the very least pot stick himself with a big bet on turn if he say has queens and another undercard hits the board. I GUESS you could call/steal if he checks but obviously that isnt preferrable to pushing here....especially bc its a rainbow. He is going to think you hit top 2 or a set and fold or gamble with you...I think he will grudgingly fold mostly though and with the money already in that makes it a fine play. Id probably fold preflop heads up bc 100 bucks is just too steep when folding equity is lessened by such a show of strength...but it depends on the game/opponent. A fold preflop is almost always correct the reraiser does a good job of raising enough to make this a bad play...if he only raised TOO 100 its a different story really. A jack high flop here blows BTW unless you have a really good read on the reraiser. |

About preflop: Do you always fold? Under what conditions do you call? [/ QUOTE ] Only really call pf if u think he is 3-betting light there. In that case, you can call here with the intension of pushing over his c-bet with any draw with 8+ outs. If he is not doing this light then fold. |

Re: 5/10 J10s flop decision
isnt it much better to call pf vs a tighter 3better, so he stacks off with overpairs and we hope to flop twopair/trips and stuff?
or do you rather try to push him off his often weaker range if you assume he is 3betting lighter? i almost always fold JT here, be it suited or not. |

Re: 5/10 J10s flop decision
Fold preflop. As played, shove flop, but do so knowing that you are very low on FE. Out of curiosity, do you have a backdoor club draw?

And conversely you might lower the value of calling heads up with SCs? Im not really familiar with the game but basically you are saying you cant semibluff in it if im getting you unless you are lucky and nowone hit the flop at all? |

[/ QUOTE ] don't call tight reraisers with jt to flop royal flush, he's probably holding one of your royal outers. |
