Default # of players

Not talking about physical table size. Whats the most players that you would let play in a hold ring game? Obviously 22 is the most a deck can deal but does having 10/11/12/13/14/15/16 players VS 9 make a difference in the game setup? Part of me says still 2 cards to every player doesn't matter but doesnt the more cards being dealt make hand values less? Really confused.....

I've dealt to 11 for hold'em, but never more than that.

When you have too many players, the game gets too tight and nitty. A lot of hands that would normally be playable become problematic, since often you'll have more people to act behind you.

The SunCruz limit games off the coast of south Florida used to run 12 handed. Never played there myself, but obviously nobody folded their cards because it was 4/8, so I hear that most hands with 3 suited cards on the board someone had a flush, etc. etc.
