In the money getting 5-1 with Ace high on the flop, villain all in
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (3 handed)
BB (t6645) Hero (t5320) SB (t3035) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero raises to t1200, SB raises to t2000, 1 fold, Hero calls t800. This was only a $3 Turbo and I did call but I thought I'd better check as the call was quite a large % of my stack. |

Don't fold, you might as well get it in pre though.

Pretty easy call. If you just figure the 4 gutshot outs are good, you're getting odds (gutshot is something like 22% to come in by the river).
Edit: oh, and like was said above, there's no point in waiting until the flop. You're pot committed regardless. Just shove the rest in preflop. |

Shove preflop, when raised by a smaller stack in this situation make it easier on yourself and shove all in preflop. You are correct with the 5-1, you are getting the right odds to call here.

Shove preflop when they have 12 BB`s or less left.

I would have shoved into the SB but BB has over 14 BB,and after my raise I still have over 10BB and can fold to a shove, can't I,or am I mistaken?
Thanks for your help |

I'd probably call this getting as little as 2.5:1.

What did you think was going to happen when you called preflop?
What was your plan when you made the standard raise? Call, because you should have been commited to play for stacks with the SB from the moment you raised preflop. |
