Re: tough turn spot w/ straight
wow he checked, a flush seems out of the question now, also surely he would fire JT again on the river. his line is starting to look a lot like 77 to me. push it to the limit.

Re: tough turn spot w/ straight
I was first thinking fold but dragon has a good point. What do he put you on? Def not your straight. A naked big spade or a PP with a spade that has outs vs him. I mean a big reason for you raisin sc's is for deception value just like this...

Re: tough turn spot w/ straight
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Also, the pf debate is pretty funny. Just because opening 56s for one person, under one set of circumstances in ep is -ev, does not mean that the same is true for another person or another set of variables. The same is true wrt open raising with virtually any two cards and I really wish that these types of debates would stop clogging threads that have little or nothing to do with pf. [/ QUOTE ] I don't really see what you are trying to get at here. How does this have nothing to do with pf? This 'debate' came up because I simply said that I don't agree with raising 56s UTG with no TI. This is basic pf strategy that can often be a huge leak (like it was for myself). [/ QUOTE ] This pfr is as standard as they get in a 6-handed game. Once it's 5-handed well there really is no question. Not that you have to raise it, it depends on style, but this is a very standard raise UTG for me unless I happen to have a maniac image at the time in which case I might pitch it. To say it's a leak though is just wrong. |

Re: tough turn spot w/ straight
You could also bet like $55 to get a call from a pair + a big spade.
But I think a straight valuebet is better here. |

i'd call turn, fold river. river is a shove, yeah. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree w/ shoving river. The river blanked and he checked if he bet AsX on the turn, he isn't calling. Only a set calls here. He might have a baby flush or JT. I really think that the % of time we get looked up and win is < 50%, and I don't think we fold any hand that beats us when they are a getting 2-1. |

Re: tough turn spot w/ straight
shoving is thin, but pretty sure it's +ev. two pair will call, and i think we're beat very rarely.
