Re: NL 200 - JTs

So basically you think the chance that villain with float OOP with a small PP is > than the chance he bluffs the turn (or calls our bet on the turn)? [/ QUOTE ] pretty much, but pps make up a small part of his range. Given this board + the information we have on him i think betting > checking. |

Who's to say i'm betting these flops with Ax all the time? [/ QUOTE ] Well if your options for a balanced strategy are A) check often weak and strong hands on Axx flops from in position vs B) bet often with weak and strong hands on Axx flops in position It seems like a no brainer that strategy B will win a lot more money over the long run to me. |

obviously it's not an either or thing.
I do lots of things depending on villain etc. |

Re: NL 200 - JTs
If you don't CB here and then he bets the turn, how do you know where you're at? He could have a set, AJ, Ax and come leading out on the turn as you showed weakness.
IMO, he most likely has Ax here and is minraising you to take control of the hand as he is OOP. I don't like the call on the flop. I'd either opt for folding or raising. A raise should get out most weak aces in this spot. You have the upper hand on this pot, you raised and bet the whole way until the flop, you calling will give him assurance he is stronger than you. Fold/raise the flop, don't call. |

Re: NL 200 - JTs
On this particular board I just feel that betting sucks.
His range is made up mostly of hands that are beating us, and hands that we're way ahead of. When you bet this flop and are called, what is your turn plan? So it's more of a pot control/deception thing |

Re: NL 200 - JTs
So we agree that against a loose aggro oponnent checking has value but gainst a tight player or an unknow betting is best in that case??

Re: NL 200 - JTs
OK, everyone, calm down. Betting this flop is fine. Checking this flop is fine. Reads/image/history/balance go into the decision.
The main thing is to know how to play it well in each case. |

Re: NL 200 - JTs
bet-check-bet probably depending on the board (bet-check-check on alot of baords i guess)
protection is important here too. |
