XBOX 360 on dell 2001fp
I am considering buying an xbox360, but I don't have HDTV. I've heard that the quality on an standard CRT TV is not that great. Can I hook up the xbox360 to my dell lcd monitor ? How will the picture quality be?

Re: XBOX 360 on dell 2001fp
this is quite easy to do, there is a composite video in port on the back of the 2001fp. the quality won't really be the best because the pixel response time on lcds is a little low, and i think the 2001fp might be a little worse than average. that said i have watched many movies, and played n64 games on mine, and i have no complaints.

Re: XBOX 360 on dell 2001fp
Hook it up via the S-video connection. Not sure if the xbox comes standard with that cable, but I promise you it's at least an aftermarket option (MonsterCable, etc.).
The response time of the 2001fp is either 16ms or 12ms, and I believe it is 12. From what I remember reading on different gamer sites, 12ms is the standard by which current LCD gaming is judged. However, 16 will work just fine and most without a trained eye won't even notice the difference. I have an HP L2335 with 16ms response and I thoroughly enjoyed my PS2 on it. |
